Empowering Grassroots Sport for Inclusion and Development
The EGSID project is a two-year initiative aimed at promoting social inclusion, health, and well-being through sports, focusing particularly on marginalized communities in Albania. It seeks to improve access to sports for groups such as women, people with disabilities, and economically disadvantaged individuals, fostering community cohesion. The project also aims to strengthen local sports organizations by providing training and resources to enhance governance and management. EGSID promotes European values of equality, non-discrimination, and human rights, aligning with EU goals and supporting cross-border collaboration between Albania and European sports entities.
The Empowering Grassroots Sport for Inclusion and Development (EGSID) project aims to address several critical issues, challenges, and gaps within the grassroots sports sector in Albania and through collaboration with EU partners.
These include: * Limited Access to Sports for Marginalized Groups * Capacity Constraints of Sports Organizations * Underutilization of Sport as a Tool for Social Integration * Insufficient Promotion of Healthy Lifestyles * Lack of International Cooperation and Exchange
