University of Elbasan is a public institution of higher education in Albania, located in the city of Elbasan. It has a commitment to providing the highest quality education to the students so that they can become successful professionals in their chosen fields and develop positive influences in their communities. We believe that education is one of the tools in Albania’s integration into the European Union, and thus quality education will help equip our students with the required expertise and know-how necessary for social and economic progress and development. UNIEL numbers 257 full-time academic staff, 132 adminstrative staff and 424 adjunct faculty professors and lecturers, committed to provide a high quality educational experience through teaching and research opportunities. The studies are organised in three study cycles: Bachelor, Master and Doctoral Studies, designed in accordance with the “Bologna Declaration”.  The academic staff applies effective teaching methods that integrate student-centered learning and foster learner autonomy. Upon graduation, our students are skilled communicators, and very attractive to prospective employers. The University of Elbasan currently has five faculties: Faculty of Economy, Faculty of Human Sciences, Faculty of Education Sciences, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Faculty of Medical Technical Sciences, with many departments respectively.

The Faculties are led by the Deans, who are elected by the academic staff and the students of the respective Faculty and each department is led by a Department Chair, who is elected by the department members.The University Senate is the supreme authority in academic matters. UNIEL has joint projects and exchange programs like ERASMUS+ with different universities and is actively engaged in expanding further this positive experience and cooperation with other Western Universities in order to improve in scientific research as one of its priorities. UNIEL has benefited from other projects (TEMPUS, ERASMUS MUNDUS) in developing specific study programmes, building capacities, enhancing quality assurance system, improving laboratories and technical support, etc., creating a new international profile ready to afford future European Challenges in the education area.
